The global context for HRM
Companies-large
or small-have ceased to be local with the dawn of globalization; they have
turned out to be multinational. This has increased the diversity of the
workforce, and cultural sensitivities have arisen as never before. All this has
led to the development of global management of human resources.
It
is possible to see this value at four different levels. They are at the level
of the organization, professional, societal and national level. In the
following strategies, HRM helps every organization achieve its goals more
efficiently. Maintain and retain the talent required by effective policy of
compensation, orientation, location, selection, recruiting and preparation.
Maintaining a positive and highly motivational organizational culture and
effectively leveraging current resources.
Today's
human resource transition is a direct call for accelerated market change due to
factors such as globalization. Decision-making in companies has become
increasingly complex and complicated in global competition within the flat and
linked new world. For excellent and marginal jobs, and for stable and dynamic
workers, the new global economy has widened the talent pool. The skill of a
company can be a source of sustainable competitive advantage and can influence
important organizational outcomes such as longevity, productivity, level of
customer service, and efficiency of the employee. Human resources need to take
advantage of technology and data analytics to create a global information
system for human resources that gathers and preserves data from different
sources.
Human
resources need to concentrate on long-term goals for companies and
forward-looking strategies. Instead of focusing solely on internal human
resource problems, divisions of human resources need to follow a more holistic
and wider approach. Global corporate HR departments need to collect data on
factors such as staff, turnover and retention, compensation and benefits,
distribution of race, gender, cultural and nationality, and load data
warehouses and data marts. Through applying advanced analytical techniques to
the data, human resource professionals gain insight into the market, anticipate
trends, and make informed decisions at both operational and strategic levels.
The qualified human resource accesses current skills and anticipates the lack
of potential skills by strategic planning. Global organizations need not only a
networked, collaborative and open workforce that is culturally diverse, but
also highly talented.

Don't you think it would be appropriate to discuss environmental implications of globalization as well when we're talking about its drawbacks?
